A number of enthusiasts have started to spy the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor undisguised, hinting at the possibility that the company has finalized the design of the pickup truck. The last time Ford left the truck undisguised was at the Detroit Motor Show and the truck was displayed in a two-door cab form.

Recent pictures have reflected on a more aggressive super-crew cab design. Furthermore, a number of videos have also surfaced that show the hero-truck in action, jumping up almost 90-feet high and lands hardly enough to deploy its airbags and crashing through the dunes. Needless to say, the consumers are now anxiously awaiting the launch of this truck.

Aggressive looks

The new pictures reveal the signature front fascia of Ford, being sported by the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. The logo has replaced the regular F-150 nose from the current model. An all black grille occupies most of the front fascia, with the letters F-O-R-D spelled in the center. Other changes include a visibly slated hood and a new bumper.

Moving over to the cabin, the 2017 F-150 Raptor would sport a 5.5-foot cabin as a two-door SuperCrew. At the rear, one can immediately spot a dual-exhaust system and LED back and front lights. Other than that, the Ford-150 remains quite the same.

Performance

The company has repeatedly confirmed that the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor would host a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The engine is capable of delivering an hp of 450 to the truck’s wheels and replaces the V8 in the present version. The engine would be controlled by a 10-speed automated transmission system, which has been developed with the cooperation of GM. Power distribution by the engine would be managed by a new “torque on demand” transfer system. This system would transfer power to the front or rear wheels as needed. However, most of the major performance changes by the company are not targeted at the engine.

The 2017 F-150 Raptor has been manufactured with an aluminum body and a composite material hood, which helps the truck loose at least 500-pounds. This is coupled with improved off-road performance for the truck, which is made possible by the use of standard Fox racing shocks, with the added quality having the Torsen front-differential settings. Additionally, the company has pre-installed a “trick-terrain” management system in the truck as well. Furthermore, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor would have BFGoodrich K02 tires installed by default.

Interior

The beast on the outside, is very luxurious on its inside, having sport seats, some carbon-fiber accents and large and comfy steering wheel with paddle shifters. The steering wheel also houses the control buttons for the “trick-terrain” management system. The truck also houses a number of safety features in its cabin.

The official release date is expected to lie somewhere in the latter half of 2016, with an expected price-target of $50,000.
